Standing Forward Fold

Uttanasana
Mechanics of the Pose:
- Start with standing in Mountain Pose
- Feet together, big toes touching
- Inhale
- On Exhale fold forward
- Place hands next to your feet on the ground
- Hold for a few breaths, on each exhale gently fold forward a bit more
Weight should not be on your heels, rather equally distributed or on the balls of your feet
Modifications
- Feeling tight? Bend your knees as much as needed, place hands on your shins or grab your angles
- Other hand positions: Place hands on the floor on the outside of each foot or place your forearms on your calves (see photo)
