When lifting legs of the ground, extend legs and then lift.

Variations include lifting one leg at a time, lifting legs and lifting upper torso and extending and lifting arms in front of you.

Modifications

You can use a folded or rolled up blanket under your thighs or upper torso to lift them of the ground.
